The Search Is On For Australia’s Top 20 Auto Enthusiasts

In the auto world, we’ve got lists of the Top 100 Cars of All Time, the Top 50 Fastest Road Bikes of All Time, even the Top Movie Car Chases of All Time.

In a country with more automotive fanatics per capita than anywhere else in the world, isn’t it time we had a list to honour pure automotive passion, from the people behind the machines?

Announcing the inaugural search for Australia’s top 20 JUST AUTO LEGENDS.

They spend their weekends wrenching, racing, cruising, polishing, admiring or writing about it. They’ve tattooed its image on their body, they married their partner because they drove one… their kids are named after it!  Their friends think they’re completely obsessed… but the few who understand think they’re a legend.

Nominations are now open and the response has been massive.  From Mr XMCoupe in Tassie who literally grew up in a panel shop and Mr Flatliner in Western Australia who’s been a Combined Torana Car Club member for 20 years – to Autofest’s Les Adams, King Chops, the boys at Mighty Car Mods and Chris Hunter at Bike EXIF – the search is already a proud showcase of the automotive blue blood that we can celebrate in Australia.

The inaugural Top 20 JUST AUTO LEGENDS will be in great company. Coinciding with the search is the announcement of a very select group of honorary members whose contribution has been an inspiration to every auto enthusiast.  Being announced progressively during the search, so far we can reveal Chic Henry, Summernats founder; Pinky – undoubtedly Australia’s best auto event announcer; touring car legend Andrew Miedecke; and Rod Hadfield – Castlemaine’s custom car-building legend.

The search for our Top 20 JUST AUTO LEGENDS is open to every auto nut.  It’s not about how much you’ve spent or whether it’s made you famous – it’s about your passion for auto. There’s only one nomination period each year, and this is it.  Visit to enter.
